WhatsApp: How to make video calls from 8 participants? WhatsApp has increased the limit for participants in a video call from four to eight. The Facebook-owned instant messaging platform took the plunge as many users switched to different apps like Zoom and House Party that offer video calls to more participants.
Due to a relatively large user base, it will be easy for WhatsApp to take advantage of this new feature and retain its audience for video calls.
The feature was first spotted by WABetaInfo, one of the most trusted WhatsApp feature tracking websites. Currently, the functionality to add eight participants to a call is only available for the beta version of WhatsApp. Soon, it will also be deployed for the stable version.
- Download and install the beta version 2.20.133 if you have an Android smartphone and the beta version 22.214.171.124 for iPhone.
- Open the app and start a video call with a participant.
- Now tap the Add Participant button in the upper right corner of the screen and add seven more participants.
4. You will only be able to add participants who have installed the beta version of WhatsApp on their smartphones. Users with regular versions of WhatsApp will not be able to take advantage of the feature.
You can get the beta version of WhatsApp for Android and iOS from the Google Play Store and Flight Tester.
To get the beta version of WhatsApp for Android, you need to be a beta tester of WhatsApp on Google Play Store.
